Dr. Elizabeth D’sa Veterinarian
I was one of those children who knew from a very young age exactly what I wanted to be when I grew up. I directed all of my energy, including electives and extracurricular activities, to the pursuit of the eventual goal of becoming a veterinarian, at times to the exclusion of the fun of my teens and twenties. I was a pretty straight-laced kid, but oh well… no regrets.
I was born in Bexar County, Texas and grew up in Grapevine, a suburb of Dallas/Fort Worth. The first ten years of my life were spent moving around the country as an Air Force brat. After graduating high school I left Texas and went to The University of Findlay in Ohio for my undergraduate degree. From there I progressed on to The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, and graduated in 2010. This was immediately followed up with a position at a practice in Parma, Ohio where I worked for 3 years before moving back to Texas with my husband, Dylan in 2013.
I’ve since practiced in a number of clinics around Austin and built some incredible relationships with veterinarians, technicians and clients. It is in great part due to these very relationships and experiences that prompted my husband and myself to start up 6 Whiskers.
When not at work, I enjoy spending time with our two cats, Legolas and Axle, as well as our dog Ahsoka. I have several small hobbies, but my biggest one is singing women’s four-part accapella (barbershop music). Unfortunately, the Covid pandemic put a damper on that, but I’m planning to get back to it, and therefore keep my voice trained with plenty of car-singing.
Dylan D'sa
Practice Manager
aka The Mad Hatter
Indian by ethnicity, born in Bombay, India (will never call it Mumbai), raised in Dubai, UAE, and American by nationality, Dylan is our globe trotter. In addition, he is also our CEO, CFO, practice manager, vet assistant, receptionist and usually the comic relief… this guy wears so many hats, we call him the Mad Hatter. Therefore, don’t be surprised when he comes to your home in his signature black cowboy hat from Texas Hatters (in fact, it might be more surprising if he’s NOT wearing it! 🤔
Dylan has an expanded view of the world and you MIGHT just detect a little accent (though he likes to pretend it’s not there). He came to the United States in 1999 to pursue a degree at The Ohio State University in Textiles and Clothing with a focus on Residential Interiors Merchandising, but that wasn’t his first passion. As a kid, Dylan wanted to be (yes you guessed it) a veterinarian. However due to a lack of support for the career where he grew up, Dylan chose a different path. This all changed once he met Elizabeth, who didn’t take long to bring him back on course.
In his free time, Dylan enjoys working out and daily training sessions with Ahsoka. One of Dylan’s new hobbies is gardening. For him, it’s not just just digging a hole and watching a plant grow. He loves creating and watching the development of the micro-ecosystem of their backyard. “It’s like our own mini National Geographic out here. It’s so cool to see geckos, blue jays and hummingbird moths doing their thing. I’ve even seen a baby garter snake feeding on an earthworm!”
